New Patients

What your initial consultation will involve

Prior to your consultation we will ask you to complete detailed medical and dental history forms. These are important as they will enable us to provide safe treatment and also to advise you of any impact on your general health or prescribed medications may have on any treatment options. The dental section also brings to light any cosmetic concerns you might have or problems you wish to discuss.

Your first appointment takes the form of a detailed examination from the dentist and allows time to discuss your concerns and any treatments you may need or be interested in. We will also provide a written treatment plan and take x-rays if appropriate. After which we will invite you to join our Dental Care Plan. The fee for the new patient examination appointment is £55.

How can we help ?

Our main priority is to keep our patients happy and healthy. To do this we take the time to listen to you and to understand what you are looking to achieve.

Detailed examination

Your mouth will then be examined gently in detail. Any necessary x-rays will be taken to provide a complete overview of your mouth so that a precise and detailed treatment plan may be produced.

Soft tissue screening

We routinely screen all our patients for oral cancer at every examination.

Tooth health

Healthy teeth should be strong and fit together with a good bite. Decay, chips, cracks, abscesses; poor/worn or ill-fitting restorations are all signs that the mouth is not as healthy as it could be.

Periodontal (Gum) Examination

The gums should be pink, firm and show no signs of inflammation. Your gums will be examined for any signs of gingivitis or gum disease and the results and treatment necessary to resolve this will be included in your treatment plan.

Treatment Planning and Discussion

After the examination the dentist will discuss with you in detail the findings and any treatment recommended. Together you will work out a plan for any required treatment to be carried out and the various options and alternatives explored. We respect our patients' right to come to their own decisions. Once you are happy we will arrange suitable appointments and provide a printed estimate.
